In preparation for President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Ogun State, the Lagos State Government has diverted the Epe/Ijebu-Ode highway and Abeokuta interchange from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm on Thursday.
The President will be inaugurating government projects in Ogun State.
The alternative routes have been mapped out according to the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde, who also assured that the Federal Road Safety Corps in collaboration with the Ogun State Traffic Management Authority (TRACE) have been deployed to manage traffic flow.
He said motorists from Lagos inbound Abeokuta should use the Lagos-Sango/Abeokuta road and the Mowe-Ofada-Papalanto-Abeokuta or alternately utilize the Ijebu-Ode, Omu –Ketu, Epe road to access their destinations.
He said traffic management personnel from both states have been employed to ensure a smooth flow of traffic along these routes.
The commissioner, however, appealed for the cooperation of road users to minimize inconveniences, reduce travel time and promote safety.
