Barcelona have sacked manager Xavi and former Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick set to replace him.
Despite the sack, Xavi will be in charge of Barcelona for the final La Liga game against Sevilla on Sunday.
The club informed the 44-year-old on Friday, during a meeting with club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco.
Xavi in January announced he was leaving the Catalan giant but made a U-turn in April after he was convinced to stay by Laporta.
Following the decision, he signed another one year contract.
In a turn of event, report says Xavi’s recent comments about the club’s financial struggles angered Laporta.
Barcelona in a statement thanked Xavi “for his work as a coach” since taking charge in 2021.
With Flick set to take charge at the Camp Now, Barcelona said a new structure will be confirmed in the coming days.
Flick, 59, has been out of job since he was sacked by Germany in September 2023.
The German also guided Bayern Munich to the treble, winning the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Champions League in 2020.
