The Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA) of Lagos has finally launched its vehicle license renewal registration portal; https://portal.autoreg.ng, to allow individuals to renew their vehicle licenses from the comfort of their homes. The platform opened up for use on August 1, 2021.
The Motor Vehicle Administration Agency is a Lagos state agency whose aim is to provide and maintain a robust motor Vehicle Administration Database and enduring private/public sector participation towards ensuring improved revenue generation and collection.’
The announcement was made in a stakeholders’ meeting at Alausa, Ikeja by the General Manager of the agency, Mrs. Lape Kilanko, who stated that the initiative was an effort of the agency to enhance the delivery of vehicle documentation and vehicle license renewal in Lagos state.

The General Manager explained that the previous practice of visiting MVAA stations to renew vehicle licenses will be left in the past. She also stated, while praising the innovation, that the vehicle information as supplied by the vehicle owner will be updated on the page.
She then proceeded to explain the vehicle registration process-
i) To sign up, enter your vehicle license number
ii) Log in
iii) Initiate Renewal
iv) Make Payment
v) You will receive SMS/email notification
vi) Await your delivery via approved logistics/delivery courier or approach the nearest MVAA station to print the customized vehicle license number by showing your SMS/ email alert.
