We are committed to policing the waterways – CP Odumosu

CP Hakeem Odumosu, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, has reiterated his commitment to policing Lagos’ waterways.

CP Odumosu made this reassurance during a security assessment tour of Tarkwa Bay, Ilashe, Igbologun, and other riverine areas suspected of being used as criminal hideouts yesterday, 12th October 2021.

His security assessment was part of his effort to make the state a safe place for all law-abiding citizens and a no-go area for criminals.

Work on the project was prompted by a need to fortify the state’s waterways after recent kidnapping incidents.

The Commissioner of Police, accompanied by Senior Police Officers from the Marine Police Unit and other tactical Commanders for a show of force on the water during the security assessment, inspected Police’s operational facilities around the area to reposition them for optimal performance.

The Police boss assured residents of the state that in addition to the robust security provided on the mainland, waterway patrols would remain a top priority.

The CP, therefore, warned criminals infiltrating the State through the waterways to commit heinous crimes to change their hearts or face their waterloo.

“No part of the state will be used as a sanctuary for criminal elements,” he declared.
