NASSI trade fair to begin on October 25

The National Association of Small Scale Industries (NASSI), in association with the Lagos State Government, will host the 5th Lagos MSMEs trade fair, which is scheduled to begin October 25-31.

This was disclosed by the chairman of the Lagos branch, Gertrude Akhimien that the week-long event, to be held at Adeyemi Bero Hall, Alausa, Ikeja, will have as theme “Role of technology in the success of the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the new normal.”

Emphasising the issue, Akhimien said the COVID-19 pandemic brought movement restrictions, fear of interactions and difficulty in accessing the market has made businesses become technology-driven, which is a new normal that has grown beyond measure.

She announced that the programme would be physical and virtual, as the products would be displayed online for promotional purposes so that customers could place orders.

Akhimien also pointed out that products made in Nigeria are on display for people to buy and to see the skills of small businesses.

She added that there will be free training courses for SMEs where people can acquire skills to boost their businesses.

“We will have free tutorials or on how to trade online. AMAZON representative in Nigeria will be on ground to teach small business owners how to export their products. Also registration for NIN, lasrea, eye checkups will take place on a daily basis while the fair lasts.

“We are encouraging retirees to come for the training and also view the nature of products on display so as to build their passion on what and how to invest their money.

She also announced that the program will provide business owners with the opportunity to network and interact with large organizations and experienced distributors.
