COVID-19: Lagos tops charts as 432 new cases, six deaths recorded on Wednesday

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Wednesday reported 432 new COVID-19 cases across 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The health agency also reported six additional COVID-19 related deaths.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official Facebook page.

According to the agency’s data, Lagos recorded the highest figures for new infections for the day with 163 cases.

While Rivers followed with 109 reported cases of the virus followed by Imo – 27, Edo-16, Kaduna – 15, Kwara – 14, FCT – 13, Oyo – 13, Kano – 12, Akwa Ibom – 10, Delta – 10, Bauchi – 9, Jigawa – 9, Ekiti – 8, Borno – 4.

The reported 432 new infections have brought the total number of confirmed cases to 249,586 while 220,893 people have recovered and have been discharged.

However, with six additional fatalities reported, the death toll from the virus now stands at 3,092.

The agency added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
