AY Makun has paid an emotional tribute to Alex Ekubo, recalling his final moments and the memories they shared
Nigerian comedian and actor Ayo Makun has joined colleagues and fans mourning the reported death of Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo.

The emotional tribute followed reports that Alex Ekubo died on Monday, May 11, after battling cancer. The actor was reportedly 40 years old.
Reacting to the tragic loss, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, revealed that he was still struggling to accept the reality of Alex Ekubo’s death.
The comedian disclosed that he saw the late actor smiling even in death and witnessed the grief among family members and close friends.
“Some losses do not feel real, no matter how many times you try to process them,” AY wrote.
The filmmaker described the loss as deeply painful, recalling the laughter, conversations, brotherhood and memorable moments they shared within the entertainment industry.
AY added that a part of him remained in shock after seeing the emotional atmosphere surrounding the late actor’s passing.
“I was there. I saw you still smiling even in death. I saw the tears from friends and family. And honestly, a part of me is still in shock,” he stated.
