Hart of Gold Nigeria Limited, a Lagos-based trade company, has donated certain athletic equipment to the Nigerian Police Force’s Zone 2 Headquarters as part of its attempts to improve the sporting potentialities of its members.
Chidozie Chigbo, the company’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, said he donated the materials because of his love for the police and sports, and that as a philanthropist and patriotic Nigerian, he appreciates the good work done by the police, particularly in the areas of crime detection, prevention, and control.
“As a patriotic Nigerian who loves this country and believes in its unity, I quite appreciate the sacrifices our police men and women are making in keeping the country safe from criminal elements and I believe that apart from policing the country, the Force boasts of talented sportsmen and women who have won and continue to win laurels for the country and should be encouraged”.
Chigbo, who stated that the donation will be ongoing, explained that his company has previously contributed relief materials to orphanages and Motherless Baby homes as part of its policy of associating with society’s less fortunate people.
When he received the items in his office, Assistant Inspector General of Police in Charge of Zone 2, Johnson Babatunde Kokumo expressed gratitude to the company, saying that the entire Police Force needed such support to improve its sports department, and urged other businesses to follow in the donor’s footsteps.
