COVID-19: Nigeria records 75 new cases, one death on Wednesday

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday reported 75 new COVID-19 cases from eight states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The agency also reported one additional COVID-19 related death.

The NCDC disclosed this on its official website.

According to data from the agency, Lagos reported the highest figures for new infections with 33 cases.

Gombe had 13 cases, FCT – 11, Osun – 8, Edo – 3, Rivers – 3, Plateau – 2 Kaduna – 1, Kano – 1.

The reported 75 new infections have brought the total number of confirmed cases to 252,753 while 228,137 people have recovered and have been discharged.

With one additional COVID-19 related death recorded for the day, the death toll from the virus now stands at 3,134.

The agency added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
