At the Experience, the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by his Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Samuel Egube was booed by worshipers during a goodwill message he delivered at the global concert hosted by House on the Rock church in Lagos.
“We choose to turn to light, to peace and righteousness…,” Mr Egube is quoted to have said, as he attempted to address the audience from the Holy Bible. He was too quickly interrupted by shouts of contempt.
He left the podium hurriedly after delivering his message incoherently. The concert’s organizer, Paul Adefarasin, senior pastor of House on the Rock church, cautioned the audience that booing politicians are contrary to the scriptures.

“The behaviour tonight is unscriptural. The Bible says, do all things without murmuring and complaining,” Mr Adefarasin said.
Mr Adefarasin said people should pray for political leaders instead of booing them.
“The scripture enjoins us to pray for our leaders and those in authority. This behaviour is not scriptural and I must honestly caution us.”
“You must never disrespect authority because they beat the sword,” Mr Adefarasin chided.
He also apologised to the state government, when he said: “I apologise to the leaders of Lagos state on your behalf,”
The Sanwo-Olu led government in Lagos has been criticised for discrediting the report of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry set up to investigate police brutality and the mindless killing of protesters in Lekki on October 20, 2020.
Sanwo-Olu has said that the reports of the panel cannot be relied upon to conclude that the night’s incident was a massacre.
