Controversial social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman has been released from police custody.
VDM was released after satisfying his bail condition on Monday.
However, the details of the bail condition are not clear at the time of this report.
The influencer, in a viral video on X Monday, was seen walking into his fans after regaining freedom.
The social media critic was arraigned before the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, facing five counts of cyberstalking involving the Nigeria police and Nollywood actresses Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dike, to which he pleaded not guilty.
His lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, applied for bail, but the police prosecuting team prayed that Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon give more time to respond to the application, leading the court to adjourn the bail hearing to May 29.
The prosecution sought to have VDM remanded in prison custody, but his lawyers successfully argued for his remand in police custody instead.
The court granted this request, and Verydarkman was subsequently taken to the National Cybercrime Centre.
