About five persons have been confirmed dead from the gas explosion at the Ladipo market in the Mushin area of Lagos state.
The explosion was reported to have occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) domestic retail centre located on Ojekunle street at the popular Lapido spare parts market.
National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) spokesperson Ibrahim Fariloye confirmed the report.
He added that so far the bodies of four adults have been recovered from the scene of the explosion. which comprise of three men and a woman who was identified as Mama Funmi.
He added that a ten-year-old was rushed to the hospital, unfortunately, he died before getting to the medical centre.
Fariloye further revealed that the fire has been put out and the emergency workers are making efforts to recover more bodies.
Those on ground to curb the situation include NEMA, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos state fire service and the Police.
