The National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Dr Betty Edu, says she is confident that women will enjoy 35 percent affirmative action under newly sworn-in president Bola Tinubu.
Edu made this known in an interview in Abuja, adding that she has no doubt that the present government would support women to achieve their full potential.
According to her, the president will continue his support for women as he has always done.
“Women can be rest assured that they will be given the right seat at the table.
“They will be given 35 percent affirmative action from the President.
“Beyond that, women will be empowered from the grassroots all the way up,” she said.
Concerning the inauguration of the president, the national women leader said she believed that Tinubu would make the difference.
She said the time for politics was over, that “Nigerians should come out en masse and work with President Tinubu across party lines.
“We are done with politics. It is time for governance.
“The president said he asked for the job and promised to get it done properly.”
