President Bola Tinubu has appointed Shehu Mohammed as the new Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
Mohammed, who previously served as an Assistant Corps Marshal, replaces Dauda Biu, who was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2022.
A statement issued on Wednesday by Segun Imohiosen, the Director of Information at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, confirmed Mohammed’s appointment. The appointment is for an initial period of four years, starting from May 20, 2024.
The statement read, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Assistant Corps Marshal Mohammed Shehu as the Corps Marshal/Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps. The appointment is for an initial period of four years, with effect from May 20, 2024, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Act establishing the Commission.”
President Tinubu urged Mohammed to utilize his extensive experience in his new role, stating, “President Tinubu tasks the appointee to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new assignment.”
