The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Thursday were thrashed 4-0 by World-Cup bound Portugal in an international friendly in Lisbon.
Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes gave the lead for Portugal in the 9th minute.
After Osayi-Samuel handled the ball in the penalty area, the Cyprus referee, Chrysovalantis Theodorou, awarded the Seleção das Quinas a penalty which was converted to a goal by Bruno in the 35th minute.
In the second half, Portugal got the game underway and immediately began to show their superiority as they dictated the tempo of the game.
Two-quick goals by Goancalo Ramos and Joao Mario in the 82nd and 84th minute sealed the game for Portugal over the three-time Africa champions who won’t be at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The result of the game means the Super Eagles are yet to win in any of their last 14 friendlies.
Portugal who were without Cristiano Ronaldo will now shift their focus to the World Cup proper in Qatar.
They are drawn in Group H alongside South Korea, Ghana and Uruguay. The Fernando Santos-led side open their campaign on November 24 against Ghana.
