The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says at least 15 ships are waiting to berth at the Lagos ports amid gruelling queues for petrol across the country occasioned by scarcity.

According to a daily publication of the NPA Shipping Position on Wednesday, two vessels are expected to berth with general cargo.

“Two of the vessels will berth with petrol, another four vessels to berth with bulk wheat, two vessels to berth with towing, while the remaining five vessels will berth with gypsum, bulk clinker, diesel, Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) and aviation fuel.

“The 15 expected vessels will berth at ENL Consortium, AMPT, Apapa Bulk and Green view Development Nigeria Ltd. terminals in Lagos,” NPA said.

It said that only a vessel was currently discharging containers of various goods at Lekki Deep Sea port.
