The Lagos State Police Command has announced the successful rescue of the three abducted Fouani brothers.
On June 14, Abbas Fouani, Youssef Fouani, and Amtal Fouani were reportedly kidnapped around 6 PM in Lagos. The brothers, who are affiliated with Fouani Nigeria Ltd, a company specializing in electronics and the sole distributor of LG, Hisense, and Maxi products in Nigeria, were abducted while returning from their factory by boat.
The police had assured the public they were working “tirelessly” to secure the victims’ release. According to reports from TheCable, the victims, along with the boat driver and his assistant, were freed Monday night in Orugbo Iddo.
Confirming the rescue, Lagos State Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin communicated via WhatsApp that the operation was successfully executed by the Lagos Marine Police with assistance from the Nigerian Navy.
“They were rescued late last night in Orugbo Iddo. Our marine police, with the support of the Nigerian Navy, brought them to shore,” Hundeyin stated. “Thereafter, our tactical team in the area took them home to Banana Island in the early hours of today. Five of them were rescued: three Lebanese, the boat captain, and his assistant.”
