A member of an armed robbery gang, Naziru Mohammed, has been arrested in Lagos by the police.
The Lagos State Police Command, in a brief statement on Thursday, disclosed that men of the Isokoko Division arrested Mohammed after he and his gang attacked and robbed stranded passengers.
The suspect and his gang members attacked the passengers after their vehicle broke down, but they were saved by the response of police officers attached to the Isokoko Division.
The police added that efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing gang members.
“Naziru Mohammed and his gang attacked and robbed stranded passengers after their vehicle broke down,” the statement reads.
“Men of Isokoko Division got wind of it, swiftly arrived the scene. Naziru was arrested while efforts are on to apprehend his members who fled.”
