The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) on Friday announced that Nigeria has been stripped of their women’s 4×100 metres relay gold from the 2022 CG.

The Federation also announced England who finished second in the race at the Games in Birmingham in August as the race winners.

However, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) later provisionally suspended Nigeria’s anchor Grace Nwokocha for using banned substances, thus, leading to the annulment of her individual and team results at Birmingham 2022 by the CGF.

This anomaly by Nigeria led to the promotion of Jamaica to silver, while Australia took bronze.
