After six seasons at Paris Saint-Germain, Brazilian star Neymar is allegedly close to agreeing to a very lucrative transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal this week.

The 31-year-old forward will have a physical on Monday in Paris, and on Wednesday he will be officially introduced at Al-Hilal.

According to GE, Neymar will make £275 million over the course of a two-year contract in the Saudi Pro League. ESPN estimates that PSG would receive about £69 million for Neymar’s transfer.

Despite having a contract with the French champions through 2027, Neymar has chosen to join the growing number of athletes who are leaving Europe’s major divisions for the lucrative Saudi Pro League.

He turned down the opportunity to return on loan to his old team, Barcelona, which would have featured an outright buy out next year.

Prior to Messi’s decision to sign with Inter Miami in the MLS, Al-Hilal sought to bring Neymar’s former teammate to the Middle-East.

In addition, they made Kylian Mbappé a record-breaking £259 million offer, but he turned it down despite his strained relationship with PSG.

Players like Ruben Neves from Wolves, Kalidou Koulibaly from Chelsea, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio, and Malcom from Zenit St. Petersburg are some players Al-Hilal has spent a lot of money on this summer.

After placing third in the league the previous year, Al-Hilal lost to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr 2-1 in the Arab Club Champions Cup final on Saturday.

Neymar, who moved to PSG from Barcelona in a record-breaking £198 million purchase in 2017, was not included in Luis Enrique’s lineup for the Ligue 1 season opener against Lorient on Saturday, which ended in a scoreless draw.

In his 173 games for PSG, Neymar has scored 118 goals overall, with three Coupe de France medals and five Ligue 1 championships.
