The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has called on governors in the country to shun President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent decision on the continued use of the old N200 notes.

In his address to the nation on Thursday morning, the president declared that the old N200 notes remain legal tender until April 10, 2023, a decision that obviously doesn’t sit well with many.

Reacting to the development, Tinubu joined his voice to those of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, House of Representatives Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, and others who have made their displeasure public.

Baring his thoughts in a circular released on Friday through APC presidential campaign spokesperson Dele Alake, the former Lagos governor urged “friendly” governors to ignore President Buhari’s directive.

Tinubu called on his counterparts to stand with the Supreme Court ruling on the issue.

“All friendly governors must replicate Kaduna address immediately to assure the integrity of the Supreme Court and the rule of law for the local & international community.

“This is the essence of constitutional federation with the Supreme Court having the final say and follows USA best practice”, the circular reads.
