The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has slammed the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele and President Muhammadu Buhari over the newly designed naira notes that were unveiled today.
Sowore asserted that the value of the naira did not move significantly and that Nigerians have once again been duped.
The newly designed N200, N500, and N1000 notes were unveiled by President Buhari at the start of the Federal Executive Council’s weekly meeting (FEC).
Sowore reacting to the new development shared pictures of the new notes and tweeted, “@GodwinIEmefiele of the @cenbank, and @MBuhari just played Nigerians over the fraudulent so-called redesign of the Naira. Nothing was “redesigned” just a change of dye. Crooks! #WeCantContinueLikeThis.”
