Nigerian singer Naira Marley has revealed his readiness to return to Nigeria to clear his name amidst allegations surrounding his involvement in the death of his former label signee, Mohbad.
Naira Marley made this declaration during an interview with social media influencer Reno Omokri.
Since the tragic passing of Mohbad, there has been a surge in social media outrage fueled by several videos in which the late singer accused Naira Marley of orchestrating a gang assault against him.
During his first interview addressing the saga, Naira Marley expressed his concern over the negative media portrayal of his character and emphasised that he would return to Nigeria if the police could guarantee his safety.
The Marlian Records boss also alleged that Mohbad had struggled with suicidal thoughts during his lifetime.
He recounted a distressing incident when he was in the United States and received a call from Mohbad’s girlfriend, informing him that Mohbad had locked himself in a toilet and was contemplating suicide.
Naira Marley described his efforts to console Mohbad during the call, reminding him of his worth and advising him not to succumb to despair.
He expressed genuine concern for Mohbad’s well-being and sought to provide him with peace of mind.
