The Minister of Sports Development, John Enoh has commended the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his administration’s rapid development in sporting programmes and initiatives.
Enoh gave the commendation during a visit from the Director-General, Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) Lekan Fatodu, to his office in Abuja.
The Minister lauded Governor Sanwo-Olu for his commitment and outstanding contributions to sports development in the state.
He described Lagos as the nation’s “Powerhouse of Sports,” and pledged the Federal Government’s full support in collaborating with Lagos State in sports development efforts.
The Minister was particularly impressed with the Lagos STARS (Sports Talents & Athlete Redefining Success); an initiative of the commission to identify and nurture young talents at the grassroots level.
Earlier, Fatodu expressed his gratitude to the Minister for the warm reception and shared the vision of Governor Sanwo-Olu for sports in the state, as well as the efforts of the Lagos State Sports Commission in providing a sporting ecosystem and nurturing sports athletes and talents, towards making Nigeria the sports hub of Africa.
He further highlighted initiatives and programmes being implemented by the Commission.
