LASU matriculates 2020/2021 academic session students

The 2020/2021 matriculation of the newly admitted students of the Lagos State University (LASU) took place today October 25, 2021. The event which began at 10 am at LASU Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos state had the school community, parents alongside the Vice-Chancellor (VC) and the staff members in attendance.

After the ceremony, while answering questions from the press, the VC Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, revealed that about 45,000 students applied to LASU during the 2020/2021 UTME/JAMB, however, out of them only 7,000 were given admission, with the 7,000 matriculating today.

Earlier, however, while Professor Ibiyemi was speaking during the matriculation ceremony at LASU, she admonished the students to be diligent in their academic pursuit adding that they should ensure that they target the highest CGPA attainable.

She also advised them to ensure that they don’t just attend events as a social function but also ensure that they aim to give value. Ibiyemi also mentioned that they should ensure they confirm and check carefully on things before committing to them.

She also admonished them to build their leadership skills ensuring that they put their best in everything they do exceeding the expectations of not just their parents but even the society at large.

Ibiyemi also advised that they ensure they are punctual to lectures and events as this will reflect on their being punctual at every other thing in life.
