The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has felicitated with Muslims in the state as they celebrate the Eld-el-Fitri, to mark the end of a successful Ramadan fast.
General Manager of the agency, Bolaji Oreagba, in a statement signed by the Director of the Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, Adebayo Taofiq yesterday, urged all Muslims to practise the virtue of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, self-denial and good neighbourliness.
According to Oreagba, LASTMA had begun public enlightenment campaign programmes at motor parks and garages for drivers to advise them on traffic regulations and for passengers to know their rights.
He said drivers are being cautioned not to move at high speed or try to manoeuvre in an attempt to drive on which is One-way — against traffic.
He, however, enjoined members of the public, especially the commuting public, to inform LASTMA management of any road obstruction, gridlock, crash or other emergency-related matter that requires urgent attention via the following telephone lines, 08100565860, 08129928597, 08129928503 and 08174722227.
