The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) has delivered on its promise to reward the winners of the Y2021 Lagos State “Tree Planting Day Online Art Competition,” which was held for young children aged between four to twelve.

Mrs Adetoun Popoola, the General Manager of LASPARK, who gave the various awards to the winners at a brief presentation ceremony held at LASPARK’s office in Ikeja, congratulated the winners while applauding the efforts of all the young children who took part in the event. She reminded them to be on their best behaviour at all times and to continue to portray their schools in a positive light.

In her words: “In the weeks preceding the Year 2021 Lagos State Tree Planting Day, held on July 14, 2021, we asked children between the ages of four to 12 years old to produce a piece of art (Painting, Drawing, Collage etc) based on the theme of the Tree Planting Day – Restore and Recover”.

“The competition created an avenue for these young lads to showcase their talents. We believe the contest was fun, educative and challenging but sadly, many of the participants did not follow the rules as stated”, she said.

The General Manager revealed that 56 entries were received, with winners selected after a rigorous examination and consideration process.
