Dr Abimbola Bowale, the Permanent Secretary of Health for District IV, reaffirmed this commitment, crediting Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s dedication to prioritising healthcare.

Speaking on the Radio Lagos programme “Citizens’ Gate,” an initiative by the Office of Political, Legislative, and Civic Engagement, Dr Bowale highlighted the state government’s determination to provide accessible and high-quality medical services at the grassroots level.

Dr Bowale, who also oversees the Primary Healthcare Board, described the division of Lagos into six health districts as a transformative strategy that has enhanced efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.

He commended the dedication of the six Permanent Secretaries managing these districts and emphasised that both state and local governments share responsibility for running the health centres.

“The government will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that everyone, including those in remote and riverine areas, has access to quality healthcare,” he stated.

As part of its commitment to strengthening the healthcare sector, Lagos State recently employed over 200 healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and community health workers.

This recruitment drive aims to address the growing demand for medical services and ensure adequate staffing across the state’s healthcare facilities.
