The crackdown follows intelligence reports from concerned residents about the suspects’ activities, which included harassment and intimidation of lawful occupants.

The Chairman of the Taskforce, CSP Adetayo Akerele, confirmed the arrests in a statement released by the agency’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Abdulraheem Gbadeyan, on Thursday.

According to Akerele, the suspects obstructed legitimate business activities and even assaulted a local businessman, Mr Ashafa of Prestige Hotel, Ikeja.

They allegedly arrived at the scene armed with dangerous weapons, further escalating tensions in the area.

Akerele reaffirmed that the agency is committed to preventing land grabbing, a practice that disrupts development and defrauds residents of their hard-earned money.

He issued a stern warning to individuals still engaging in such illegal activities, urging them to desist or face legal consequences.

Following their arrest, the suspects were arraigned in court, where they pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Lagos State Taskforce remains dedicated to enforcing law and order, vowing to take decisive action against intimidation, violence, and unlawful land occupations.

Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious or illegal activities to the authorities to help maintain peace and security across the state.
