Lagos State trains operators of orphanages on nutrition policy


The Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development on Tuesday organised a one-day capacity-building programme for operators of homeowners and orphanages on the State’s policy on food And nutrition.

Held at the Correctional Centre for Junior Boys in Yaba, the programme aims to ensure the compliance of owners of Private Homes and Orphanages with Lagos State Food and Nutrition Policy and Plan of Action.

Speaking at the event, Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende said Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’administration is concerned about food security will ensure all nutritional requirement was met particularly for wards in both government and private homes.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Pharm (Mrs) Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu stressed the need for the participants to learn, unlearn and relearn in line with evolving realities in their sector where nutrition must be made a priority.

Pharm. Oke-Osanyintolu disclosed that the Ministry would continue to place a premium on capacity building for Owners of Private Homes and Orphanages for the children under their watch to receive the best care.
