Lagos State to conduct structural stability test on razed Balogun market buildings

The Lagos State Government has decided to conduct a structural and stability test on the structures damaged by the recent fire incident at Balogun Street on Lagos Island through its Materials Testing Laboratory.

A release signed by the General Manager, Lagos State Materials Testing Laboratory, Engr. Olufunsho Elulade, said the officials of the Agency had visited the scene of the fire incident to take samples for testing to ascertain the structural integrity and stability of the burnt structures.

According to him, the tests will include visual, fire ratings analysis and Non-Destructive Test (NDT), adding that on completion, the report will be made available to the appropriate authority for further action.
