Lagos State seals churches, bars, night clubs, event centres and others over noise pollution

The Lagos State Government has sealed some churches, bars, night clubs, event centres and other establishments over noise pollution.

The affected establishments are located in Lagos Island, Ojudu, Ogba, Magodo, and Ikosi areas of the state.

In the post on X accompanied with pictures, the office of the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab showed that some of the affected establishments included New Jerusalem Ark of God International Church and Yplus Event Centre.

Officials of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA carried out the operation.

The post reads: “The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) conducted an enforcement operation, which resulted in the closure and sealing off of specific establishments in areas including Lagos Island, Ojudu, Ogba, Magodo, and Ikosi, all due to concerns regarding noise pollution.

“Let’s Stand United Against Noise Pollution! To combat noise pollution, LASEPA advocates strict adherence to the recommended sound levels in establishments, including religious centres, nightclubs, bars, and events centers.”
