Ikeja, Lagos state is set to host TechStars Startup Weekend. The event is scheduled to hold from 20-22 August 2021. According to information on the organiser’s website, the event would be a 54-hour event designed to provide superior experiential education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs.
Information contained on its website says that participants in the course of the weekend will create working startups during the event; they would be required to work with like-minded people. “All teams hear talks by industry leaders and receive valuable feedback from local entrepreneurs. The weekend is centred around action, innovation, and education.”
The over-the-weekend tech event is scheduled to begin with Friday night pitches, with brainstorming, business plan development, and basic prototype creation, culminating in Sunday night demos and presentations. The organisers are a group of tech enthusiasts, with backgrounds in different areas of technology.
The event is facilitated by Daniel Chinagozi, a tech entrepreneur, and the founder and CEO of Innovation Growth Hub. The event boasts of global partners like Google for Startups and Godaddy Registry.
The aim of the startup weekend is to create a thriving network that powers startups, connecting participants with mentors, investors, and innovation leaders.
