In a crackdown on environmental violations, the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) confiscated a significant amount of banned styrofoam products at Ojuwoye Market in Mushin.
This development was announced by the Commissioner of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, via X.com on Tuesday.
According to Wahab, the seized styrofoam products have been transported to the KAI office in Oshodi for incineration.
The statement reads, “Based on intelligence gathering, the operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) discovered a styrofoam warehouse at Ojuwoye Market in Mushin.”
He added, “The owner brought in the banned styrofoam to market in the early hours of today. The products have been confiscated and taken to the KAI office in Oshodi for incineration.”
Wahab reiterated the government’s commitment to environmental health, stating, “The Lagos State government is reiterating its commitment to ensuring a healthy, cleaner, and safer environment for all Lagosians.”
