September marks Domestic and Sexual Violence Awareness Month in Lagos State.
During this period, we reaffirm our commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against these grave issues. Our mission is clear: to protect every resident of Lagos and end the cycle of abuse.
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency has made significant strides, reaching over 1 million individuals with vital support and awareness initiatives. We have secured more than 50 convictions and provided comprehensive services to over 6,000 survivors. These efforts are making a tangible impact.
Sexual and Gender-Based Violence has no place in Lagos State. We will continue to enforce the law, protect victims, and ensure that offenders face justice.
This initiative is not only about addressing violence; it’s about promoting hope, healing, and creating a future where everyone feels secure and valued. As we observe this Awareness Month, let us renew our determination to continue this crucial work.
Our commitment remains unwavering: we will not rest until domestic and sexual violence is reduced to the lowest possible levels in Lagos.
Join us in this essential fight for a safer and better Lagos.
