The Lagos state police command has announced the acquisition of permanent telephone lines that will be assigned to divisional police officers (DPOs) and other key officers across the state.
This was disclosed by the command’s spokesperson CSP, Benjamin Hundeyin via his X handle.
According to Hundeyin, this development aims to establish a stable channel of communication between the public and the police
“This move phases out the old era where the personal phone numbers of these strategic officers are used for official communication/assignments, resulting in a communication barrier whenever these officers are redeployed.
“With the new arrangement, numbers remain permanently attached to particular offices such that with the redeployment of the occupants of such officers, the phone numbers remain the same.”
The image maker further said, the commissioner of police, Adegoke Fayoade, took this step to provide improved access, quicker response times and enhanced communication for the good people of Lagos state.
Fayoade “commends the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Lagos State Command, under the leadership of Apostle Kehinde Showemimo for magnanimously providing desktop phones to all police divisions within the state” noting that it will consolidate the commitment of the Command in engaging with communities and creating a safer environment for everyone in the state.
