The Cowry Card, already in use for other public transportation modes in Lagos, ensures seamless travel across the state’s interconnected transport network.

Emmanuel highlighted the integration as a significant step toward improving commuter convenience and promoting a unified payment system.

“LASWA is pleased to announce that the recently launched Omi Bus Ferries are now fully operational with Cowry Cards.

This integration ensures seamless travel options for our passengers, fostering an interconnected transport network within the state,” Emmanuel stated.

In addition to the convenience of cashless payment, LASWA has prioritised commuter safety by insuring the ferry fleet with LASACO Assurance.

This comprehensive coverage reflects the authority’s commitment to delivering secure and reliable water transport services.

The Omi Bus Ferries are equipped with advanced safety features, including life jackets, buoys, fire extinguishers, and pyrotechnics.

The ferries also feature non-slip deck mats and public address systems for enhanced safety.

Designed for passenger comfort, the ferries include a stereo system, LED lighting, USB charging points, and eco-friendly designs with reduced CO2 emissions.

Recognised internationally by Interferry, a global ferry association, for their safety standards, these locally manufactured vessels offer a sustainable alternative for commuting in Lagos.

“The general public is invited to take advantage of the ferry alternative for a faster and more reliable journey around Lagos,” Emmanuel added.

The Omi Bus Ferries represent a key milestone in Lagos State’s efforts to enhance water transportation, offering an efficient, safe, and environmentally conscious travel option for residents.
