Lagos State trains civil servants in digital skills to improve governance and service delivery under Governor Sanwo-Olu’s modernisation agenda

The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to human capital development by investing in digital training for its workforce.

The latest initiative aims to modernise governance and enhance service delivery through technological advancements.

At a recent training programme themed *“Leading in a Digital Age”*, Honourable Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Mr. Afolabi Ayantayo, highlighted the administration’s dedication to equipping civil servants with digital competencies.

The event, organised by the Ministry of Establishments and Training, was held at the Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC) in Magodo, Lagos.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun, Ayantayo emphasised that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration prioritises a digitally skilled workforce.

He noted that technology is reshaping governance, making efficiency a key expectation among citizens.

*”The digital revolution has transformed the way we work. Citizens now demand better service delivery.

This training exposes participants to digital tools and innovative approaches that will improve governance,”* Ayantayo stated.

The initiative targets 100 middle-level officers above Grade Level 13, equipping them with skills necessary for modern public service operations.

By integrating digital knowledge into their daily responsibilities, civil servants will play a crucial role in driving innovation and efficiency across government agencies.

This training forms part of a broader strategy by Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration to embrace digital transformation and prepare Lagos for the future.
