Lagos came alive as the New Afrika Shrine hosted thrilling performances in celebration of Felabration 2024, the annual music festival held in honour of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. Themed
“Look and Laugh”, this year’s festival, which runs from October 14 to October 20, brought together music lovers and fans of Fela from across the globe to celebrate his legacy through an unforgettable musical experience.

The festival’s musical concert featured exhilarating performances by renowned Nigerian artists, including Skales, May D, and Durella, as the crowd danced late into the night.
Durella thrilled fans with some of his hit singles, such as “Shayo”, “My Life”, and the iconic “Wiskolowiska”, while May D kept the energy high with performances of his tracks “So Many Tinz”, “Gat Me High”, and “Shayo”.
Concertgoers, captivated by the lively atmosphere, enjoyed a night of music and dancing that embodied the true spirit of Fela’s Afrobeat legacy.
Mr Olumide Sumi, a student in attendance, expressed his excitement, saying, “I’ve never seen these artists perform live before, and it’s been a spine-tingling experience. As a fan of Durella, Skales, and May D, this has been a dream come true.”
Felabration, more than just a music festival, continues to pay tribute to Fela’s immense contributions to music, society, and culture.
