President Bola Tinubu is currently in closed-door meeting with General Yakubu Gowon (retd.), at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The former Head of State arrived at the forecourt of the President’s office at minutes past 2pm where he was received by Tinubu.
This is the first private meeting between the former Head of State and the President since the latter assumed office in May 2023.
However, the reason for the meeting is unknown.
Gowon was Nigeria’s Head of State from August 1966 to July 1975 and currently serves in the Council of State.
