The Nigeria Police Council on Tuesday, confirmed Kayode Egbetokun as the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
President Bola Tinubu had appointed Egbetokun as the acting IGP and retired Usman Baba in June.
Present at the Police Council for Egbetokun’s appointment were the President, who chaired the meeting, with the 36 governors, the Minister of the FCT, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Solomon Arase.
Minister of Police Affairs, Ibrahim Gaidam, announced Egbetokun’s confirmation to state house correspondents after the meeting.
Gaidam highlighted Egbetokun’s impressive curriculum vitae and international exposure.
