Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said Kevin De Bruyne is likely to be out for a few months following his latest injury setback.
During City’s opening Premier League match away at Burnley, the Belgian playmaker limped off just 23 minutes into the game after seemingly aggravating a hamstring problem.
The 32-year-old was returning from an injury that also forced him off in the first half of City’s Champions League final 1-0 win over Inter in June.
Guardiola, speaking ahead of the club’s UEFA Super Cup clash with Sevilla, confirmed he would probably be gone for a while and also suggested surgery.
“We have to decide his surgery,” he said in his pre-match press conference.
“Will be a few months out. We will decide in the next days. Surgery is surgery, three or four months out.”
