Dancers from all around Nigeria have begun registering for Battle of the Year Nigeria, the world’s largest dance reality television competition. The Nigerian edition of Battle of the Year is sponsored by Globacom, a telecommunications solutions company.
The regional auditions for Glo Battle of the Year Nigeria are set to begin on November 30th in Kaduna. On the 4th, 7th, 11th, 14th, and 18th of December, regional auditions are scheduled for Abuja, Enugu, Port Harcourt, Benin, and Lagos, respectively. The deadline for submissions is November 20th, 2021.
According to Globacom, “Young Nigerians have camped on www.globotynigeria.com since the website went live last month. The opportunity to win mega millions of naira and other mouth-watering prizes, including the chance of representing Nigeria at the international Battle of the Year, has motivated many to apply”.
While urging interested dancers and dance crews to visit www.globotynigeria.com to enter the competition, Globacom stated that participants must upload a 60-second entry video, after which the top 20 entries per region in each category will be selected.
Globacom also added that the international dance tournament has been trending on top social media platforms such as Twitter and Nairaland in the past month.
The telecommunication giant in a recent press release in Lagos said: “We are really excited to commence the regional auditions later this month and look forward to beginning the airing all the action for the viewing pleasure of Nigerians at a soon-to-be-announced date. The planning team has put in place everything necessary to give young people exactly what they enjoy about dance performances, and we are confident that everyone will be pleasantly delighted with what we have in store.”
Adding that after the commencement of the dance competition was announced in October, talented dancers and dance teams were encouraged to upload their dance movements in a bid to qualify for the auditions.
