The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended four individuals for the alleged theft of tricycles from a mobility company located in Ojota, Lagos State.
The arrested suspects are identified as Jeremiah Ekanem, Bashiru Mohammed, Abdulahi Yerima, and Hassan Abdul.
According to reports, the theft occurred on Tuesday around 10:00 a.m. The secretary of the mobility company in Ojota reported the incident to the Ogudu Police Division after receiving a tip-off about the theft of three tricycles.
An anonymous police source from the division stated, “On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at about 10:00 a.m., the secretary of a mobility company in Ojota reported at the Ogudu Police Division that on the same date, at about 7:00 a.m., he received a tip-off that three of the company’s tricycles had been stolen by unknown persons.”
Acting on the report, detectives from the division launched an investigation and tracked down the stolen tricycles to various locations. The suspects were subsequently arrested in Ondo State, Mile 12, and Idiroko areas of Lagos State.
Jeremiah Ekanem was apprehended in Ondo Town, Ondo State, with the first tricycle; Bashiru Mohammed was arrested at Mile 12, Lagos, with the second tricycle; while Abdulahi Yerima and Hassan Abdul were arrested at Idiroko, Lagos, with the third tricycle.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrests, stating that the suspects will be arraigned in court after the completion of the investigation.
