A driver and three of his passengers have sustained injuries after their vehicle plunged into a canal in Lagos.
The incident which occurred around 12:29 p.m. around Costain Roundabout inward Eko Bridge involved a Toyota Avalon car with registration number CAL-466GA and was said to have had a brake failure while moving at top speed.
The driver lost control of the vehicle as he swerved off the busy road only to land inside a big canal nearby.
Some road users swiftly rushed to their rescue, evacuated them from the vehicle, and took them to the hospital for treatment.
Confirming the incident, the Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, said responders to the accident scene were told the occupants of the vehicle were receiving treatment at the hospital.
