On Sunday afternoon, a devastating fire completely engulfed the private residence of Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, the Minister of State in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
The incident occurred at her home located at No. 9, Justice Roseline Ukeji Close, in the prestigious Asokoro district of Abuja.
Despite the rapid response and efforts of the fire service personnel, the blaze was so intense that nothing within the property could be rescued or salvaged.
Mr. Austin Elemue, the Special Adviser on Media to the Minister, confirmed the unfortunate incident.
“The cause of the fire is currently unknown,” he stated, adding that investigations are underway.
Authorities are delving into the matter to ascertain the origins and reasons behind the sudden fire outbreak at the minister’s residence.
