Jude Bellingham, has been handed a one-match ban by the European football’s governing body UEFA for hos conduct during England’s match against Slovakia.
Bellingham was filmed doing a crotch grab while looking towards the Slovakia bench after scoring the equaliser, an over-head kick in the stoppage-time, keeping England in the tournament with a 95-minute goal from captain Harry Kane.
UEFA on Friday, in a statement, announced that the 21-year-old would be fined 30,000 euros ($32,477) and suspended “for a total of one UEFA competition match for which he would be otherwise eligible for violating the basic rules of decent conduct.
“Said suspension is not immediately enforced and is subject to a probationary period of one (1) year, starting from the date of the present decision,” UEFA added.
Despite the ban, Bellingham will be possibly be available for England’s Euro 2024 quarter-final clash against Switzerland in Düsseldorf on Saturday evening.
The Real Madrid star has scored twice in four matches as England have reached the last eight without putting in a single convincing performance.
If the Three Lions win the quarter-final game, they would set up a semi-final with either Turkey or the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, Germany will face Spain while Portugal will face France
