Dr Max Amuchie receives an honorary doctorate from Gulf American University, celebrating his contributions to science, education, and community service
Dr Max Amuchie, Founder and CEO of Sundiata Post Media Ltd and a passionate Rotarian, has received an Honorary Doctorate in Science from Gulf American University (GAU) in Dubai.
This prestigious accolade recognises his outstanding contributions to knowledge, humanitarian service, and community development.
The award followed a rigorous year-long evaluation by GAU’s Board, culminating in an honorary award interview on 23 December 2024, two days before the official announcement.
Dr Amuchie’s achievements in scientific research and community initiatives were central to this recognition, underscoring his role in advancing education and societal welfare.
As President of the Rotary Club of Abuja CBD during the 2022-2023 Rotary Year, Dr Amuchie led impactful projects, including eradicating open defecation at Central Primary School, Gidan Gimba, Nasarawa State.
Under his leadership, the club constructed three modern toilets for boys, girls, and staff, officially commissioned on 23 June 2023.
Additionally, he initiated a Basic Education Project at the school, which included a block of classrooms and a headteacher’s office, significantly improving the learning environment.
Dr Amuchie expressed deep personal satisfaction with these projects, emphasising their importance to the Gidan Gimba community.
The local chief, community members, pupils, and staff conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the Rotary Club for its transformative efforts.
Beyond his humanitarian work, Dr Amuchie has made significant strides in media and human resource management.
His platform, Sundiata Post, launched on 7 July 2015, earned the prestigious Google News JERF Award in 2020.
A chartered human resource consultant and Doctoral Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management, he is also an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and a member of the Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria.
Dr Amuchie serves as the North-Central Zonal Co-ordinator of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP), contributing to its Annual Conference Planning Committee for three consecutive years.
He is also a member of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) and formerly served as Vice President, Public Relations of Unity Toastmasters Club, Abuja.
In a letter of appreciation to GAU, Dr Amuchie expressed hope that the award would foster collaborations between the university, Sundiata Post Media Ltd, and the Rotary Club of Abuja CBD.
This honour reflects Dr Amuchie’s unwavering dedication to science, education, and humanitarian service, further solidifying his legacy as a visionary leader and community builder.
