Yesterday marked ten years since renowned journalist, pastor, and media entrepreneur Dimgba Uguru Igwe tragically passed away.
He died after being hit by a reckless driver while jogging on 6th September 2014 in Lagos.
His widow, Mrs Obioma Igwe, shared in an interview how she and their children have navigated life without him over the past decade.
Reflecting on that fateful day, Mrs Igwe described the shock of witnessing the accident and the difficulty of accepting her husband’s death.
Despite the challenges, her faith in God has provided comfort and guidance. She spoke fondly of the bond she shared with Dimgba, highlighting the deep communication and laughter that characterized their relationship.
His presence is still missed, especially his dedication to family life and his passion for teaching and sharing knowledge.
Raising their four children, Mrs Igwe credited God for providing the strength and resources needed.
Although promises of support from others fell through, her small business ensured the children’s education continued without interruption.
She also expressed gratitude to Dimgba’s close friend, Mike Awoyinfa, for his unwavering support over the years.
The family is now focused on fulfilling some of Dimgba’s unfulfilled dreams, including building a library and church parish in honour of his late family members.
Mrs Igwe remains committed to preserving his legacy and upholding the values he stood for.
