According to The Power Learn Project, digital education would help solve unemployment or underemployment among Nigerian youth.
The company stated that its objective was to teach one million software developers across the continent by the year 2027.
It added that the PLP, in partnership with Adanian Labs Nigeria and Job Red, would unveil the programme at Oriental Hotel on November 18th, 2022, saying Nigeria was the 5th African Country to introduce the #1MillionDevs4Africa program.
The Power Learn Project’s Chief Growth & Operations Officer, Mumbi Ndung’u, stated that the project’s aim was to use technological skilling to bring about transformative change for the young of Nigeria and Africa.
“The program will offer online junior software development training, consisting of curated programming languages as well as a soft skills component in employability, entrepreneurship, and their mental well-being with our health partner AfyaRekod in order to enable the learners to not only acquire entry-level smart technology jobs but to also be wholesome members of the community.
“PLP aims to train 1,500 software developers in Nigeria over a period of 16 weeks,” she said.
